Riding down our hillside through the trees and then emerging from the foliage half way down to a beautiful vista of our lake is a real treat for my family and also visitors to our home. But, of course I want to be able to personally reassure my visitors that it is safe to join me for a tram ride. I’ve talked to a few elevator mechanics and they either strike me as insufficiently qualified or, in some cases, they seem qualified but they don’t have government approved credentials for our locality. Some meet both criteria but only want to work on their own companies’ tram designs. It seems that part of the problem is that it’s hard (and thus expensive) to have customized or retrofitted safety features approved by the regulatory authorities in our area. Is anyone else having the same problem? Where are you from? What’s your story?
